Tourism in Alba

Itineraries, wine and food, sports and relaxation

ROUTES AND TRAILS

A very old path running by here links Alba to the Barbaresco wine-growing area.

The town enjoys a privileged position, offering stunning views of the hills and the vineyards,  with the 36 m high medieval tower, overlooking the Tanaro River.

The itinerary includes Neive, with its beautiful hamlet and Treiso, with the Seven Brothers Rocks (le Rocche dei 7 Fratelli), a chasm whose unusual shape is due to water activity, which has crushed the crumby hills of the hills.

FOOD AND WINE IN ALBA

Wine-tastings can be organized in the cellars of small local producers, and guests are welcome to watch – or even take part in – work on the farm.

We will be on hand to recommend interesting trips into the hills of the Langa, visiting old towns and villages, historical buildings, castles and fortresses, as well as pilgrimages for devotees of poetry and literature to the places made famous by the writers Cesare Pavese and Beppe Fenoglio.

Though breakfast is the only meal we cater for, there are plenty of restaurants and trattorias in the immediate neighbourhood serving the typical dishes of Piedmontese cuisine.
